Responsibilities

The role of the Mill Assistant is to enable the efficient operation of the mill production system, supporting key operational areas to ensure quality and production needs are met in order to deliver business objectives.
Throughout this role you will provide mill cover, carrying out the efficient operation of all aspects of the feed mill production system, ensuring all relevant Health & Safety and quality control procedures relating to the production of compound animal feed are adhered to. This will require operation of heavy-duty machinery. A further aspect of your role will ensure raw materials are kept to an efficient level for production.
You will also be required to undertake hygiene duties, such as cleaning all spillages and trailers in the mill yard as required, mitigating risks to health and safety, and preventing a negative impact on quality standards. You will manage aspects of quality control by proactively seeking solutions where abnormalities occur, responding to any incidents or environmental concerns and promptly notifying the Mill Management team of any concerns which are considered to merit immediate attention. You will continually assist in maintaining audit standards and ensure corrective processes are in place to address non-conformances.
