JOB SUMMARY:

Accountable for all aspects of storeroom inventory, including cycle counting, stock levels, ordering, requisitions, blanket POs, stock rotation, bin labeling, location, set-ups, returns, crediting, and obsolete inventory. This role reports to the Procurement Manager in the facility. Lead the personnel within the storeroom, including the buyer, coordinator, and clerks, by supervising, managing, and directing their activities. Establish and maintain a close working relationship with the Maintenance and Production Directors.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Background in purchasing, inventory management or business management preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience
  • ERP experience (SAP preferred)
  • Demonstrate leadership skills; 5-7 years of direct supervisory experience with concrete leadership examples.
  • Ability to work with and/or lead cross-functional teams.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask; managing multiple projects and meeting critical deadlines on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following, implementing, and enforcing Company safety standards and procedures.
  • Participate and be a key attendee of the Macon MRO team.
  • Function as departmental liaison with all Mill Departments, employees, vendors, and suppliers
  • Manage and conduct the first step in the grievances procedure.
  • Manage departmental seniority in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Responsible for “on-call” weekend duty for the storeroom based on a rotating schedule.
  • Manage, approve, and assist in creating training manuals for other departments, covering work orders, pulling reports, and other storeroom procedures and business processes, including ISO guidelines.
  • Responsible for researching, handling, and addressing storeroom issues or mill concerns and identifying solutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring the layout of the storeroom, warehouse, and other storage areas is organized, clean, and properly coded.
  • Oversees and maintains data integrity through SAP and offline reports (e.g., Excel) used to manage storeroom inventory.
  • Traces the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Upholds compliance standards with established procedures and determines adequacy of stock levels and adjusts accordingly.
  • Develop annual departmental goals that support local/divisional goals.
  • Manage MRP (inventory) daily report, physical inventory, and stockouts.
  • Manage the external inventory repair process for materials, to include processing repair purchase orders, evaluating repair bids, and working in conjunction with Maintenance to finalize repairs on critical spare items.
  • Manage all receipt, issue, freight bill, free stock, and return goods memo processes.
  • Manage monthly consignment settlement.
  • Manage and communicate with vendors on service calls, repair issues, and requested material
  • Manage inventory control cycle counts processes.
  • Responsible for the management and removal of expired chemicals, ensuring they are adequately documented and communicated through a monthly Chemical Report submitted to the Environmental Department for the removal of the chemical (s) from the mill site.
  • Manage the “Memorandum of Shipment Expediting” for all materials shipped from the mill and maintain records for future reference.
  • Manage supply vending machine program; restocking units as needed.
  • Analyzes storeroom inventory and proposes to the Procurement Lead and/or Controller areas of opportunity to optimize cash flow through expired, deteriorated, slow-moving, and excess stock.
