Description

We are looking for an individual with Tool and Die experience including the manufacturing of tooling, jigs, and fixtures. They must know how to set up and use both Lathes and Mills (manual and CNC) with little to no assistance. Majority of the time (80%+/-) would be working on mills. Must be able to read and interpret drawings. This is a full-time position but could be suited for an induvial that is thinking that they would still like to work part time while semi-retired.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • 5 years’ experience as Tool and Die Maker
  • 3-4 axis machine center experience: Fanuc controls
  • Results-oriented
  • Analytical thinking
  • Interpersonal skills (including working effectively with others)
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
  • Ability to read/ interpret blueprints.
  • Experience using various mechanical inspection tools.
  • Program/Run CNC code from provided CAD data using Mastercam 9
  • Understanding of CNC Programming, G-codes, and M-codes
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 32 – 42 per week

Responsibilities
  • Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC machines.
  • Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function. Enter codes specifying speeds, feed and cut of the tool path for CNC machine tools.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Perform accurate work-in-process dimensional or surface verification to specification by: using precision measuring instruments to check straight cuts, shapes, threads, holes, tapers, hardness, and surfaces; deburring work pieces; and performing in-process inspections.
  • Fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.
  • Replicate machine replacement parts without drawings.
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings and use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Trouble shooting abilities working with a wide variety of materials and processes.
  • Must be quality oriented with a strong attention to detail.
  • Maintain positive working relationship when interacting with other plant personnel.
  • Adheres to and maintains safe work practices, including WHMIS 2015 requirements.
