Daintree Industries Ltd, a leader in custom design and millwork located in Squamish, BC is looking for a multi-skilled tradesmen/women to join their team as a full time, permanent, Millworker/ Cabinet maker /Fabricator.
We work on high-end Residential and Commercial projects from Vancouver to Whistler, and beyond. Our shop is located at 38930 Mid Way Squamish, BC.
The expected work hours are full time (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday, between 8am to 5pm, including 1 hour unpaid lunch. $ hourly rate (to be negotiated based on experience).
It is expected that the successful applicant will have a minimum of 1 year experience working in a millwork / joinery environment and be proficient with the tools of the trade required for woodworking.
The primary requirement of this position is to aid in shop woodwork manufacturing, installation, and successful team completion of projects. Involvement will span from receiving of goods, operating machinery and assembly, to delivery of final product to site.
Tasks to expect;
- Casegood assembly
- Loading edgebander
- Custom cabinet fabrication
- Operating woodworking machines and hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
- Saw mitering
- Sanding and applying finishes to products
- Repair or reassemble parts
- Installation of hand skilled joinery and custom millwork to high standard
- Manual loading, unloading and delivering of casework and finished product
- Attends work sites and engage with clients and communicate with contractors
- General shop cleaning and tidying
Applicant must be proficient in:
- Reading and following shop drawings and plans.
- Following procedures.
- Asking questions when unsure of the task at hand.
- Knowledge of both metric and imperial systems
- Working under minimal supervision with proficiency.
Other requirements:
- Valid BC drivers license.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Communicate in English
- An attention to detail is a must in this industry
- High school certificate or equivalent experience
Additional skills:
- Supervise other workers.
- Operate CAD and other computer software systems.
- Instruct apprentices.
- Weight handling up to 45kgs
