Position: Millwright Shift: 1st shift 6-230am Compensation: Up to $40 per hour, depending on Experience Overview of Role: The Maintenance Technician II will be based in the steel mill, where they will perform a variety of maintenance tasks with a strong focus on electrical systems and equipment. This role requires advanced troubleshooting and repair skills related to electrical components, along with working knowledge of mechanical systems. The technician will support the safe and efficient operation of heavy industrial equipment in a high-demand production environment. Welding, mechanical skills, electrical is a plus. This mid-level position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting larger electrical and mechanical maintenance projects. The Maintenance Technician II is essential in ensuring the reliability and safety of mill operations, contributing to both day-to-day maintenance and long-term equipment performance goals. Requirements Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or an associate's degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred). 3+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or facilities maintenance, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Proficient in using maintenance tools, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and vibration analyzers. Strong understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and practices to ensure equipment reliability. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments with minimal supervision. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and handling hazardous materials. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and generating reports. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively report issues and document maintenance tasks. Desired Qualifications: Certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, or mechanical systems (e.g., EPA certification, OSHA certification). Experience with building automation systems (BAS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), or other industrial control systems. Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, or facilities maintenance environment. Familiarity with project management software or tools used for scheduling and tracking maintenance tasks Technology Requirements: Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS) to track and log work orders, maintenance tasks, and equipment performance. Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, thermography cameras) to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems. Other Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, such as climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and using power tools. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in maintenance.
