Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Status: Full -Time
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the scope of this position involves the maintenance of all property and equipment at the facility including mechanical and electrical repairs. This position is also responsible for the safe, timely and quality repair and preventative maintenance of all plant machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post secondary education (College or University) in a related and transferable field, and currently holds a Millwright designation
  • Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food/dairy industry considered an asset
  • Must display excellent sanitary habits and possess solid understanding of HACCP and GMP requirements
  • Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability
  • Solid knowledge of high-speed filling and packaging lines and PLCs
  • Familiar with continuous improvement processes and methodologies considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of basic welding and machining
  • Good communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
  • Must be able to travel between plant locations
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job
  • Computer skills would be an asset

Responsibilities
  • Responsible to maintain mechanical and electrical systems and all machinery, as well as general building maintenance and repairs
  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality and outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner that complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations and standards i.e. ESA, H&S, GMP’s, HACCP, WHMIS etc.
  • Communicate daily maintenance activities with Maintenance Manager and maintenance team and update all daily logs
  • Maintain existing PM systems and complete PM’s in a timely manner
  • Monitor and maintain the Quality, Food Safety and SQF systems
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations and efficiencies
  • Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping
  • Provide coverage and support at both Ivanhoe and Stirling plants, as scheduled
  • Attend prescribed courses and training as required
  • Other projects as assigned by Plant Management.
