JOB ADVERT SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Millwright. The goal is to ensure all support activities are conducted efficiently and effectively to allow the other operations to function properly. The ideal candidate will be appointed as a Millwright in this operational role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified Millwright (Red Seal Certificate) - a must.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a Millwright in a Poultry environment would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity management principles and job card systems
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Team player with leadership skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook)
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Electrical and Mechanical, but will also include Plumbing, Ground Maintenance, Vehicle Checks, Fault Finding and Routine Inspections
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
  • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.
  • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
  • Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Good knowledge of various test equipment.
  • Assess staff performance and provide coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the company to facilitate other business operations.
  • Manage and work according to schedules and deadlines.
  • Monitor inventory and planning the purchasing of new materials/supplies/parts with attention to budgetary constraints.
  • Organize and supervise maintenance team activities.
  • Ensure operations adhere to policies and regulations.
  • Ensure that all maintenance work carried out are of high quality.
  • Prompt repair of all equipment that can affect production.
  • Ensure that all bio-security standards and procedures are in place and are strictly adhered to.
  • Weekly review of all job cards/inspections and follow-up
  • Compliance with Health and Safety
  • Candidate should be willing to work flexible hours and weekends including standby to attend to call outs where needed.
  • Attending to HR/IR matters where needed (i.e. planning leave, time sheets, disciplinary measures, etc.)
