Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Trades Certification for Industrial Mechanic, minimum 5yrs experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working on high-speed packaging equipment an asset.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits, CIP systems and possess knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multi-task

Responsibilities
  • Servicing and maintaining all process and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, perform preventative maintenance, and assist in installations of capital equipment projects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment control systems working with electrician – PLC and machine I/O based.
  • Machining, welding, and fabricating skills.
  • Reading and interpreting of mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Understand and adhere to all plant Food/Health and Safety Polices.
  • Must possess a great attitude and work ethic.
  • Must be a team player and able to work closely with, production, engineering and outside contractors.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule - shift work, overtime and weekends and schedule changes can be aspects of the position.
  • Pump repair / troubleshooting, and Vacuum system experience.
  • Instruct and assist operators with changeovers as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
