Responsibilities

We are looking for a Millwright I to join the Rio Tinto Minerals Maintenance Department and provide construction, installation, relocation, repair, and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities for the optimum operating efficiency of the Wilmington Plant, our primary shipping facility in North America. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be:

  • Following all required Rio Tinto Minerals Safety rules, lock-out/tag-out, and Isolation Procedures
  • Coordinating Millwrights function with overall Plant Operations; preparing parts lists and order and retrieving parts as needed
  • Using power and hand equipment, performing varied types of rigging, often at heights which require climbing and the use of safety equipment i.e., harness, lanyard, SRL’s, man-lifts, scissor-lifts
  • Diagnosing and repairing all types of rotating and conveying equipment, including pumps, elevators, screw conveyors, belting, material handling, and centrifuges.
