Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a key member of the maintenance team, the Millwright will report directly to the Technical Manager and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of injection molding machine control systems and various other production equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • College diploma, degree, or certification in a relevant field.
  • Certified Millwright (433A) and/or Electrician (442A) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with a strong focus on injection molding machinery.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools for maintenance tracking.

Responsibilities
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on plastic extrusion machinery, manufacturing equipment, and machine shop tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in production tools.
  • Maintain, service, and repair injection molding machines, including Nissei, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and Engel models—both newer and older generations.
  • Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions, ensuring that all control and safety mechanisms are functional and compliant. Engage with OEM support when necessary.
  • Assist with procurement and inventory management, including ordering necessary parts, equipment, and maintenance supplies, while maintaining critical spare components.
  • Perform both scheduled and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Interpret and apply technical manuals, schematics, and work orders to conduct maintenance and servicing effectively.
  • Support maintenance operations by maintaining detailed records of performed tasks using CMMS systems and ESA logbooks.
  • Install, repair, and test electrical motors, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, sensors, and variable frequency drives.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair simple control networks within the manufacturing facility.
  • Assist in organizing health and safety training sessions to promote workplace safety.
  • Perform additional maintenance-related tasks as required to support facility operations.
