Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (HOWEVER NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Supervise electricians while completing electrical and non-electrical tasks both underground and surface
  • Responsible for all low voltage electrical reticulation equipment and drawings, both surface and underground related to the mine and for all high voltage reticulation cabling and equipment, installations, testing, drawings and HV submissions.
  • Prioritise resource and coordinate all unplanned work that arises over the course of the week and inspect new and existing underground electrical installations to ensure they meet and continues to meet statutory and site requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Maintenance Planner and production personnel, consult the work plan to determine and approve the weekly work plan to be scheduled.
  • Ensure all aspects of the mine electrical tasks are conversant Australian Standards.
  • Co-ordinate daily/weekly follow ups on work order parts availabilities to ensure compliance or rescheduling requirements.
  • Complete investigations utilising site reporting procedures, report to the maintenance team and introduce measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Assist in developing yearly PPM’s for inclusion in the Capital budget
  • In conjunction with senior Maintenance personnel develop a yearly maintenance budget.
  • Supply feedback on completed work, including failure analysis data, to the Maintenance Reliability Engineers
  • Responsible for recruitment, development, training and counselling of underground electrical personnel whilst ensuring Underground Electricians are suitably qualified and trained to perform the work
  • Carry out Task Hazard Analysis (THA) and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for electrical maintenance tasks as required.
  • Abide by Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, visions and values, and MMG Code of Conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES;

  • Electrical Trade Qualification, High voltage ticket
  • Instrumentation Experience or training
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Team Leader/Supervisors Role, other than a trade background
  • Demonstrable experience working in an Underground Mining Maintenance environment (desirable)
  • High voltage switching, maintenance and DCS/PLC operation or maintenance experience
  • Experience using SAP (desirable)
  • AutoCAD electrical drafting
  • Valid Drivers Licence
  • Interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with maintenance professionals in pursuit of technical solutions
  • Competent to monitor progress of delegation, assignments and activities
  • A proven history with safe work practises, with the ability to identify and address unsafe practices and lead by example.
