Rio Tinto Iron Ore Company of Canada’s Mine Technical Services team is seeking a Mine Engineer (Daily Planning) to join their team supporting the mining operations in Labrador City. This is a key role responsible for developing daily production schedules that align with short range plans and operational priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer and working in a collaborative community within the Mine Technical Services, key responsibilities will include:

• Develop the daily production and auxiliary work schedule aligning with the 2-week plan and other operational priorities
• Collaborate with mine operations supervisors to gather inputs and strengthen plan execution
• Present production schedule and conformance to plan at the Plan of the Day (PLOD) meeting
• Attend and contribute to key meetings including L2 – Daily Production Meeting (DPM) and PLOD
• Support 2-week planner and development engineer with plan execution designs as required

This permanent position will be offered on a fly in, fly out work roster of 2 weeks on site and 2 weeks off, out of St. John’s or Montreal. If you are interested in relocating to Labrador City, relocation assistance is provided.
