Description

Osisko Development Corp.’s ("Osisko Development” or the “Company") wholly-owned subsidiary, Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of the team at its flagship Project, Cariboo Gold Project, as a Mine Engineer-In-Training in Wells BC.
This position’s work will primarily be located at the project in Wells BC. on a 4 days on 3 days off rotation.
Reporting directly to the Superintendent, Technical Services, the EIT will apply their engineering knowledge gained from prior engineering training and work experience to contribute to the process of engineering from conceptual designs to the final detailed construction plans. The role will alternate between Wells office and site environment to expose the incumbent to the many facets of the mining industry. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day activities by optimizing productivity in accordance with goals and scheduling while demonstrating a strong personal commitment to safety and the environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a degree in Mining Engineering or be enrolled in Mining Engineering University program
  • Experience in underground operations would be an asset

Responsibilities
  • Be a leader for the safe and sustainable development of the Cariboo Gold Project
  • Assist engineers in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data, drawings and adherence to prescribed methods
  • Prepare plans, designs and calculations based on specifications provided
  • Assist with conducting field work and coordination of mining activities
  • Communicating with crews and supervisors
  • Monitoring progress against design specifications
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Become knowledgeable with mine operations and equipment and assist with mine development when the opportunity arises. This will include working underground and operating underground equipment, once approved and signed off
  • Perform according to Safe Operating Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
