MINE GEOLOGIST

We are currently seeking a Mine Geologist to provide day to day underground mine geological services to the mining operation, in particular structural control, mapping and direction of underground development headings; planning of underground drilling activities; stope notes; reconciliation of producing stopes and collation of data in preparation for resource estimation.
This role will report to a senior geologist and is available on a roster of 8/6 with drive in, drive out options (DIDO) from the local Cloncurry or Mount Isa districts or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane.

COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:

  • Committed to workplace safety with expertise in fostering safety cultures; holds tertiary qualifications in Geology and an Australian manual class driver’s licence.
  • Proficient in underground mapping, sampling methods, geological interpretation, and basic drilling techniques, with demonstrated underground geology experience.
  • Capable of managing core processing and directing field technicians; strong technical, organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships across all operational levels, skilled in MS Office and knowledgeable in 3D mining software and database systems.
Responsibilities
  • Core logging and processing.
  • Underground inspections and validation of geological data.
  • Mapping and interpretation for inclusion in geological models.
  • Developing and updating panel and stope notes.
  • Daily maintenance of grade control data management and reporting.
  • Assist in regular geological reports in material movement reconciliations.
