Description:
An established owner operator mid tier miner is currently seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join their growing team. We are seeking someone with strong capability for assisting in the development of the underground mine geology providing technical advice planning and methodology in the mine. With a proactive attitude to safety and self-driven work ethic this job could be the one for you!
Role duties include:
- Compile Daily Production Reports
- Conduct underground development/face mapping and sampling
- Undertake stope, stockpile and ROM stocks inspection as well as ore markups
- Ensure efficient communication of any relevant information with mine officials
- Carry out 3D wireframe modelling and resource estimation
- Design drill programs and inspect diamond drill rigs
- Carryout corelogging and drillhole and sample data management.
- Maintain effective communication between crossover shifts.
- Provide accurate geological data to be entered into a structured database.
- Assist with updates of grade control models.
- Reconciliation of completed stopes and ore drives.
- Design grade control drill programs at least 3 months in advance
- Daily and weekly reporting and scheduling of grade control drilling operations.
- Effective supervision of core processing activities.
- Promote continuous improvement in all facets of mine geology.
To be considered you will have:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Geology
- Ideally 2 years – 5 years post graduate experience as a mine geologist in underground mining
- Strong computer literacy skills, ideally SURPAC
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of operation;
- Solid team player
- Solid analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
- Knowledge and understanding of Mines Regulations, OH&S and Duty of Care;
- Full Australian working rights
- Valid C Class Drivers licence (manual)
