Description Who We Are Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore. The Maintenance Planner will oversee the maintenance scheduling and parts procurement in support of the mobile mining equipment. This is a safety sensitive position. As the Maintenance Planner, you will report to the Mobile Maintenance General Foreman. What You Do Work closely with the General Foreman to maintain an effective maintenance scheduling program for all mobile equipment on site. Monitor and track all components associated with the mobile equipment. Monitor and track all wear items associated with the mobile equipment. Monitor and maintain both short-term and long-term maintenance schedules by planning daily checks and extending to multi-year schedules, including major overhauls. Develop a good working relationship with vendors for sourcing parts and supplies. Work closely with the Procurement department to source maintenance supplies with a focus on accurate and all inclusive parts lists and supplies. Work closely with maintenance Supervisors and personnel, to ensure maintenance is being performed as scheduled. Assist in setting maintenance schedules for the mechanics, welders and support personnel. And to support said personnel with proper literature and parts to perform the task’s assigned. Track and monitor oil sampling program, become familiar with reading oil sample reports and make recommendations for work needed based on sample results. Develop parts lists for common repair tasks and take a hands on approach to parts ordering and receiving to ensure all parts are available prior to beginning scheduled tasks. Familiar with root cause analysis and able to identify changes needed from analysis results. Track and record task efficiency and able to make recommendations for areas of improvement. Familiar with light vehicle maintenance protocols with ability to research parts, read and understand service manuals and offer guidance to needed repairs for light vehicles. Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all personnel, and full compliance with all directives and regulations on safety, health and the environment. Other duties as assigned. What You Bring A minimum of 1 year of experience in an open pit mining environment or planning, scheduling, coordinating, or project management, with a focus on all facets of equipment maintenance. The perfect candidate will have had hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic and / or maintenance procurement. Have had experience with scheduling and monitoring preventative maintenance in a facility similar in complexity to the equipment and facilities that are associated with the mine. Must have demonstrated ability to work with a mixed team of heavy-duty mechanics, welders, light vehicle mechanics, tire techs, and support personnel. Ability to present information in a manner that is clear and understandable and proficient in all verbal and written skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft software; Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Manager Plus experience preferred.
