THE OPPORTUNITY:

Looking to join a dynamic and inclusive team where you can lead high-impact projects and make a real difference? As a Mine Projects Engineer for Albian Oil Sands Mining, you will take the lead on key infrastructure and mining projects—such as Mine Water Treatment, Mine Haul Roads, River Crossings, and supporting Mine Development. You will drive these initiatives to successful outcomes by meeting schedule commitments, cost targets, and delivering functional, stakeholder-aligned solutions—all while maintaining a zero-incident safety record.

  • Job location: Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Company sponsored fly-in/fly-out and camp facilities with flights from Calgary or Edmonton
  • Shift schedule: 4 x 3, Monday-Thursday (10 hours/day)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of mine infrastructure and development projects—from concept to completion
  • Provide technical support for the design and development of haul roads, river diversions, river crossings, and saline water treatment systems
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules to deliver functional, cost-effective solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mine Operations, Technical Services, Environmental, Regulatory, and Finance
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout all project phases
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to maintain schedule and cost performance
  • Deliver consistent project reporting and updates to internal stakeholders and leadership
Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) with APEGA
  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering or project management in the mining or heavy civil industries
  • Proven experience delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, engineering principles, and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with tools such as Vulcan, AutoCAD, or Project Management Software is an asset
