ABOUT THE JOB:

The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Mine Supervisor to work in a camp-based environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a mechanized mining operation;
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in similar role;
  • Experience with paste backfill and cut & fill operations;
  • Knowledge of ground support systems;
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow mine plan documentation;
  • Ability to operate Jumbo and trucking equipment;
  • Valid BC Underground Blasting Ticket;
  • Valid BC Underground Shift Boss Ticket;
  • Valid St. Johns standard first aid course with a travel endorsement;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
  • Mining, Oil and Gas or Heavy Industrial experience is preferred;
  • Strong problem-solving, teamwork and ability to develop and foster strong working relationships;
  • Strong sense of integrity, ethics and desire to positively impact the environment;
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia;
  • Supervise, direct, coordinate and coach the activities of employees engaged in the mining processes;
  • Ensure operators are trained and experienced for assigned tasks;
  • Ensure employees perform pre-operational check and supervise all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures;
  • Monitor equipment and processes and conduct trouble shooting activities when problems arise;
  • Develop future proficient equipment operators from within the crew;
  • Ensure all reporting is accurately completed in a timely manner;
  • Promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the Mine Operations.
