Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in one of Canada’s most prolific and active mining areas? If so, consider this exceptional opportunity with the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
Playing a key role in the monitoring and stimulation of exploration, you will lead and deliver the mineral exploration and development program, guiding components through the regulatory process.
The Mineral Exploration and Development Section supports the exploration and development of mineral resources within the regulatory framework of the Mining Act. Staff assist industry with their early exploration, advanced exploration or new mine development projects by providing information and advice on permitting requirements, financial assurance, as well as regulating early exploration and facilitating consultation with the public and Indigenous communities.

COMMUNICATION, FACILITATION AND NEGOTIATION SKILLS:

  • You have communication skills, tact and good judgement to exchange information, provide advice and recommendations to a broad range of internal and external clients with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds.
  • You have well developed skills in negotiation, diplomacy, facilitation and consensus building to foster cooperative, effective, and sound relations between Indigenous communities, industry and stakeholders.

OTHER RELEVANT SKILLS:

  • You have research, analytical and problem solving skills to review and evaluate information/proposals and organize, implement and monitor project deliverables.
  • You are highly organized to coordinate and implement diverse projects.
  • You are proficient in computer and related software such as word processing, graphics, spreadsheets and internet to collect, display, analyze and process mining-related and geographic information.
