We are currently looking for an individual to fill our Divisional Manager - Mining role. The position will require regular visit to our Elkford office but may be filled from a variety of location in British Columbia.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Division Manager for our Mining division, you will lead and manage the division’s team, including both permanent and non-permanent positions, to ensure that our commitment to Safety, Quality, and Efficiency is consistently delivered to our industrial owner clients. You will oversee all operations within the division, ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have demonstrated labour management experience
  • Must have demonstrated success in managing a budget and financial planning
  • Must have demonstrated success in strategic planning
  • Experience in the field of Mining is highly preferred
  • Must be proficient in technology including: Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead and inspire the divisional team to align with our core promise of Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. Make strategic decisions on team structure, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and layoffs, to maintain a high-performing and motivated workforce.
  • Operational Oversight: Organize and manage all operations within the Emergency Response Division, ensuring that every project and operation aligns with our promise to industrial owner clients. This includes efficient resource allocation, smooth workflow, and effective project coordination.
  • Business Workflow & Process Ownership: Take full ownership of the division’s business workflows and processes. Continuously evaluate, refine, and optimize these processes to drive efficiency, enhance quality, and ensure the highest standards of safety. Implement best practices that support the division’s goals and align with our company’s overall objectives.
  • Strategic Networking: Actively engage in business-to-business networking to address gaps in resourcing and knowledge within the division. Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry peers, vendors, and partners to ensure that the division is well-equipped to meet client demands and industry challenges.
  • Labour Resource Management: Oversee recruitment efforts to address labor resource constraints, working closely with an administrator who reports to you. Ensure that the recruitment process aligns with divisional needs, and that the division is adequately staffed with skilled personnel to deliver on our promise of Safety, Quality, and Efficiency.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Collaborate with the Corporate Services Team to analyze key metrics and take proactive measures to address gaps in preventive maintenance, optimize equipment and vehicle utilization, and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Health & Safety Advocacy: Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety within the division. Implement actions based on leading indicators provided by the QHS (Quality, Health, and Safety) Team to enhance the safety and well-being of our workforce.
  • Managing Nonbillable Hours: Actively monitor and manage the divisional schedule to prevent budget slippage, particularly by minimizing the overuse of nonbillable hours during seasonally slow periods. Develop strategies to optimize workforce utilization and reallocate resources to maintain productivity and control costs during these times.
  • Accountability & Quality Assurance: Drive accountability within project teams, ensuring strict adherence to quality processes and standards. Own the quality process for project intake and scheduling, ensuring that every project meets our high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Office & Equipment Management: Oversee the smooth operation of the Prince George office and equipment areas, ensuring that all resources are well-maintained and available to support project execution.
  • Budgeting & Financial Planning: Participate in setting and managing quarterly and annual budgets for the division. Work closely with the Service Director to review financial reports, create action plans, and execute strategies that maintain profitability while delivering on our promise to clients.
