Job Description So, we are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Mining Engineer, who shares our values – Think Sharp, Dig In and Care - to join our high performing team. JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the operation through mine designs and schedules that are operationally and technically robust and maximise value. Within the Short Term Planning team, you will have exposure to Mine Design, Drill & Blast and Short Term Scheduling. You will be supported to build and maintain working relationships with peers and stakeholders in the office and in the field. Professional development is at the core of the Technical Services Team and you will be provided coaching and mentoring from some of the best engineers in the business. ABOUT THE ROLE As a mining engineer at HVO, you will be responsible for: Being a role model for safety on site. Providing expertise and oversight to optimise mine design and scheduling. Reconciliation of mine design process and conformance to plan. Liaising with stakeholders regarding short term design and scheduling. Review equipment conformance to plan and performance feedback. Promoting and maintaining a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values. ROSTER AND LOCATION Monday to Friday professional roster Based on site at HVO ABOUT YOU A commitment to the best practice of health, safety environment and community at all times Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering (or demonstrated practical experience) Passion for problem solving by utilising your experiences, knowledge and lateral thinking skills Excellent planning, organising and influencing skills Computer literacy in standard systems such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc. Providing practical solutions when providing planning advice. Experience with Vulcan, Deswik, FMS, MinVu or other CAD software would be desirable Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment. Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) produces some of the world’s highest quality thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal for export. Our operation comprising of HVO North and HVO South – are in Lemington near the NSW Upper Hunter town of Singleton. Considering a career with HVO?
