We consistently deliver value to clients throughout all mining stages, leveraging expertise and equipment for comprehensive surface operation services.   About the Role: We are seeking a qualified Mining Engineer to join our team at Meandu Mine, reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent. Key responsibilities:   You will be responsible for short to mid term mine planning, scheduling and optimization along with the following:   Develop and implement daily and weekly mine plans and schedules Develop and implement operational mine designs Ensure that geotechnical design parameters are implemented and monitored Prepare and roll out mine schedules Ensure design process and production schedules are adhered to Assist in preparation and monitoring of monthly drill & blast forecasts and progress claims Manage commercial aspects and performance of drilling & blasting sub-contractors Prepare and maintain appropriate long term drill & blast schedules to align the consumable requirements Ensure all drill & blast tasks are being performed in accordance with the contract Work collaboratively with relevant staff to optimise production and productivity, compliance to work schedules, and quality About You:  Degree in Mining Engineering (preferred) or tertiary qualifications in mining or civil engineering, or other technical fields e.g. surveying or geology At least 3 years’ site based open cut or underground mining experience Computer literacy is essential Significant experience in the design and operating aspects of coal and hard rock mines is desirable Technical and analytical skills in relation to mining activities and equipment Sound writing, interpersonal and teamwork skills Working at BUMA:   BUMA Australia is a people focused business, with a strong emphasis on safety, training, development and continuous improvement. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.   Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations.
