As a Mine Engineering student, you will be in a unique position that offers a wide range of challenging duties and learning experiences. There is opportunity to explore the areas of Mine Technology, Short-Range, Mid-Range and Long-Range mine planning or be a part of our Tailings planning team. As a Mining/Mineral, Civil or Geological Engineering student, you will gain valuable hands on Oil Sands engineering experience. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support mine and tailings operations through performance monitoring, design work, analyzing trends, looking for efficiencies.
- Design work may include haul roads, waste dumps, tailings storage structures and pit walls
- Assist in the budget process by engaging with all teams in the mining department to collaboratively develop the annual mine operations budget
- Perform haul truck productivity simulations in support of the forecast and budget
- Detailed deposition scheduling to support waste and tailings planning
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor Degree program in Mining Engineering is preferred, Civil or Geological Engineering is also acceptable
- Previous engineering or field experience is considered an asset.
- A class 5 driver’s license and a relatively clean driver’s abstract is required for this position.
- A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
- Required to be physically and mentally fit for work
