Ministerial and Parliamentary Communications Manager At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training. Ongoing Full-Time Located in Eveleigh with flexible working arrangements available Competitive salary of $129,464 - $142,665 pa plus superannuation and leave loading About the role The Ministerial and Parliamentary Communications Manager is primarily responsible for assisting the Senior Manager with delivering school asset related ministerial parliamentary and executive communications; Government Information and Public Access (GIPA) Act applications; ministerial and executive reporting including Annual Reports and statutory reporting in a timely manner. The role is also responsible for independently preparing communications on complex matters and providing high level policy advice on school asset related matters, and assisting with the review of policy, procedures and guidelines. School Infrastructure (SI) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW. For further information please click here to view the role description About you - Experience in communications and policy Ability to communicate and manage relationships with Executive level stakeholders Ability to understand complex matters Government experience would be beneficial, but not essential Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Essential requirements of the role Tertiary qualifications in Communications or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience within communications policy. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
