Position Summary    Works under the general supervision of the manager to perform work of an unskilled and physical nature in and around a warehouse or storage area.    Pay Grade: 41H       Minimum Qualifications    * Six (6) months of related unskilled work experience; AND  * Graduated from an accredited high school or possesses a GED.   * Forklift certification is required.  * PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.    Duties and Responsibilities    * Processes and fulfills supply orders, including receiving, preparing, and distributing materials to designated locations.  * Safely loads, unloads, and transports supplies, including operating Health Department vehicles for deliveries. * Receives and inspects shipments for accuracy, shortages, damages, and unauthorized items, reports discrepancies in accordance with established procedures. * Maintains accurate inventory and warehouse records, including requisitions, invoices, purchase orders, and delivery documentation. * Organizes and manages warehouse stock, supporting inventory counts and reconciliations. * Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment, including proper operation and care of tools, equipment, and facilities. * Performs various general repairs with common tools. * Assists with the effective performance management of facilities contract services including building maintenance, security, cleaning, waste management, environment, and building services.  * Performs other related duties as required or directed.     KSA’s    * Knowledge of basic warehousing, storage, and distribution methods and procedures.   * Ability to learn safety rules and regulations related to warehouse operations and equipment usage.   * Ability to successfully perform basic math.  * Ability to communicate both orally and in writing effectively.   * Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles and forklifts.  * Ability to read and write at a level required for successful job performance.    Special Requirements    * Must have a valid driver’s license or secure one as of employment date and maintain a satisfactory driving record.   * Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance upon date of employment.  * Must have a valid forklift certification and be able to work in a warehouse.   * Work will require travel to locations outside of the office.  * Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and training credentials throughout the duration of employment.     Physical Requirements     * Must be able to stoop, squat, crawl, and perform other physical duties as needed to investigate locations and animals and to apprehend animals when needed.  * Must be able to lift or pull up to 50 pounds at a time.   * Must be able to work in all types of weather.   * Must successfully pass a physical assessment.     Disclaimer This position is subject to a background check for any convictions that have a substantial relationship to potential job duties.
