In this essential role within our live operations, you will report to the Central Ops Lead and play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our drones. ROLE PURPOSE We are seeking a motivated and operationally astute individual to step into the role of Mission Controller. This position is central to our daily operations, ensuring that our services run smoothly and safely. The role requires a detailed understanding of Manna's operations and a strong commitment to maintaining the high safety and efficiency standards Manna is known for. WHAT YOU'LL DO Conduct daily briefings with OPS crew and remote pilots to align on tasks, providing everyone with an opportunity to contribute and emphasising safety Keep the team updated with the latest Operations Team Notifications Verify and confirm the training status of all staff on shift Facilitate and coordinate on-the-job training for new staff alongside experienced team members Uphold and support the Safety and Compliance Management systems Guarantee compliance with the necessary operational mitigations Confirm that all flights adhere to MANNA's authorisations and operational constraints Ensure that Remote Pilots are well-acquainted with Flight Geography, Contingency Volume, and Ground Risk Buffer and are operating within environmental limits of the UAS Delegate and assign tasks to crew members efficiently Manage and oversee all functions during operations, acting as the central coordination point Maintain open communication with the Central Operations Lead, providing essential updates and briefs Ensure that flight paths minimize disturbance to local populations and mitigate risks As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) Conduct risk assessments for all routes, ensuring they are as safe and efficient as possible Enforce Adjacent Area control measures for operational containment WHO YOU ARE Safety-Focused - You prioritise safety and strictly adhere to our Standard Operating Procedures Detail-Oriented - You understand the importance of each flight and approach every task with precision Adaptable - You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving start-up environment Strong Communicator - You excel in clear, effective communication and teamwork Decision Maker - You confidently manage multiple tasks and make sound decisions under pressure Flexible - You're open to traveling to other operations or testing sites as needed
