Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Mission Integration Engineer to support the development and deployment of integrated satellite ground systems for commercial and government customers. This role is critical to enabling complex space missions by translating technical requirements into mission-ready solutions and leading system-level integration activities. Must hold an active a TS/SCI Clearance. This position will be in Arvada, Colorado or Washington D.C. This is a Hybrid role. This job opens for applications on August 18, 2025. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE MISSION INTEGRATION ENGINEER INCLUDE:

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems engineering or mission integration experience in the space domain
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required
  • Experience in the design, development, testing, and/or verification of spacecraft ground systems
  • Prior involvement in pre-launch and on-orbit operations of satellite missions, especially with government customers
  • Familiarity with TT&C architectures, satellite operations software, and spacecraft communications/data handling subsystems
  • Understanding of cloud-based ground systems and satellite operations automation
  • Proficiency in scripting or software languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation and system configuration
  • Experience with containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and AWS GovCloud (preferred).
Responsibilities
  • Lead technical integration efforts for customer space missions, ensuring seamless deployment of ground systems.
  • Translate mission requirements and operational concepts into actionable system designs aligned with platform capabilities.
  • Coordinate integration of spacecraft, ground stations, and cloud infrastructure into a unified mission architecture.
  • Own the verification and validation (V&V) process across mission threads including telemetry, commanding, automation, and analytics.
  • Serve as the technical point-of-contact for onboarding new missions, managing design reviews and readiness milestones.
  • Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and requirements verification documentation.
  • Support mission readiness activities, including simulations, operator training, and on-console shifts during early orbit operations.
