QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Computer Science, Simulation Engineering, Game Development, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with simulation environments, ideally within defense, aerospace, or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience with Virtual Battlespace 4 (VBS4), including mission scripting and API integration.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, C#, or similar).
  • Familiarity with simulation data pipelines and synthetic data generation techniques.
  • Structured, analytical, and solution-driven mindset.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration across technical and operational teams.
  • Ability to translate military operational concepts into technical simulation scenarios.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Nice to have:

  • Background in military simulation, modeling & simulation (M&S), or defense training systems.
  • Knowledge of AI training pipelines, machine learning data requirements, and synthetic data methodologies.
  • Experience with video streaming, telemetry handling, and real-time system integration.
  • Familiarity with GIS data, terrain modeling, and environmental simulation aspects.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive mission simulation environment using Virtual Battlespace 4 (VBS4).
  • Develop and maintain interfaces between VBS4 and various software components, including data pipelines for AI training.
  • Automate scenario generation for diverse mission environments (weather, lighting, entity placement).
  • Ensure technical robustness, scalability, and repeatability of simulation environments.
  • Create reusable templates for scenarios covering typical military operational environments.
  • Manage data collection processes, ensuring variation and realism across simulation runs.
