Job Details Job Location: American Well Services - Midland, TX Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Not Specified Salary Range: Undisclosed Mixing Plant Operator Company Overview: American Well Services is located in Midland, TX, and provides well service rigs for the purpose of workover or completion operations. Along with the well service rigs, AWS offers a wide range of additional wellsite support services, including fluid transfer, fishing and rental services, hot oiling, frac tank rental, and wellsite construction. AWS is managed by seasoned industry veterans and services blue-chip customers in the Permian Basin with a substantial asset base, strong safety culture, and industry-leading operating procedures. American Well Services provides a full suite of completions and workover solutions to customers in the Permian Basin. Position Overview: A Mixing Plant Operator is accountable for the safe operation of the assigned mixing plant equipment. The Mixing Plant Operator will also be responsible for running mixing plant coil tubing and stick pipe drill outs, and a complete understanding of fluids and chemicals compatibilities. Responsibilities: Service and maintain mixing plant equipment Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain appropriate maintenance records Safely operate pumps for the transfer of liquid Maintain and record accurate tank fluid levels Safely rig up and rig down fluid mixing plant on coil tubing unit, stick pipe drill outs or workover locations Safely rig up mixing plant to reverse pumps for stick pipe units, coil tubing pump trucks Mix chemicals to control downhole pressures Communicate with appropriate on-site crews and/or company representative to use correct chemical quantities based on well conditions Safely rig up and rig down equipment used for mixing plant operations Follows and supports all AWS HSE policies, procedures, and best practices Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times Drives company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads, including paved and gravel surfaces, and off-road situations, including two-track roads Qualifications Experience/Qualifications: Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/management Minimum of one (1) year of experience running mixing plant, coil tubing, and stick pipe drill outs, required Demonstrate knowledge of fluid and chemical compatibilities, required Knowledge of Aphron Light Weight Fluid systems, preferred Prior experience working with a computer-based workorder system, preferred Prior experience with KPA, preferred Basic math skills, problem-solving solving and organizational skills, required Maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass MVR, required Class A (CDL), preferred Ability to communicate, read & write in English, required Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment Mobility, including entering confined spaces, entering areas by the use of ladders or other access devices up to 15 feet Demonstrates ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with customers, visitors, vendors, and other employees Experience working rotational shift work, working in inclement weather, and/or manual labor experience, preferred Ability to clear/pass pre-employment screening, testing, and job-relevant hiring requirements, required Physical Conditions: Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law Able to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE This position routinely works alone at a location and cannot rely on supervision or assistance from others, if present on site.
