POSITION SUMMARY:

The Institute of Culinary Education, Los Angeles Campus, is seeking a weekend Recreational Mixology Instructor. The instructor will be responsible for leading the hands on recreational beverage classes in conformity with ICE proprietary class lessons. The instructor will be responsible for ensuring that the highest quality mixology education is delivered in a fun and engaging format.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High-end hospitality background preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years bartending (cocktail and mixology service) - professional alcoholic beverage preparation - experience
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Flexible schedule
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other departments and teams
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills required
  • High school graduate.
  • A university degree or relevant certification in hospitality or bartending is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Teach weekend recreational classes
  • Prepare and teach alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages preparation according to established recipes and standards.
  • Lead recreational classes in conformity with ICE lesson plans
  • Demonstrates techniques and concepts as required by the curriculum
  • Delivers clear and concise and organized lectures as required
  • Maintains a positive, focused learning environment during class
  • Assures that all classes are conducted in a manner that complies with principles of food safety and sanitation
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including washing glassware, cleaning surfaces, and organizing supplies.
