Eligible for new hire sign on bonus! Summary Perform laboratory testing according to established standards and regulations to assist the provider in diagnosis and treatment of the patients. Job Description Required to perform clinical laboratory testing and other necessary duties to keep the department functioning smoothly. Will work with self discipline, good judgment, and considerable independence while following established standards of practice. Overall will demonstrate technical competency and will consult with leadership when necessary. Needs to recognize responsibilities of other laboratory and health care personnel and interact with respect for their jobs and patient care. Understand the use and limitations of laboratory instruments and equipment, must demonstrate proficiency in assigned areas, be able to learn and utilize new technology as laboratory medicine changes. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations for the all age groups. Perform laboratory testing according to established standards and regulations to assist the provider in diagnosis and treatment of the patients. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in laboratory or biological sciences required. Must have knowledge of laboratory equipment, procedures, CLIA regulations, and quality control methods. Must possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example, American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or be registry-eligible. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) is also acceptable. Registry-eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. If working in North Dakota, must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
