PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Manufacturing Leadership Program is a 2-year development program designed to train as a manufacturing engineer within a production facility (The Toronto Plant located in Scarborough). Within the 2 years, the program participant will serve as a manufacturing engineer for both of our two production lines. Additional development opportunities will be given to lead cross functional projects in both the maintenance and operations within the 2 years of the program. After the 2 years program most applicants will graduate into a full manufacturing engineer within one of the openings in the Toronto plant, but this is not guaranteed. Special considerations will be given to those candidates who are open and willing to travel to another plant within Canada or the US for openings in other facilities.
The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is accountable to maintain production efficiencies by collaborating closely with the maintenance and operations department. The ME is responsible for ensuring the quality of the products produced at the lowest possible manufactured cost. The ME will lead any initiatives aimed to improve quality and or efficiencies. The ME will also be responsible for leading any training, coaching and upskilling of operators to help improve the performance of the facility. While completing the requirements of the role, the ME must keep process, equipment and people safety as the number one priority at all times.
