Description

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

As a member of the asTech diagnostic team, the Mobile Technician will visit customers’ workshops to diagnose, calibrate, program modules, and recommend or conduct small wiring repairs for vehicles involved in collisions / repairs. The successful candidate will collaborate with the shop(s) to perform diagnostic pre and post scans to carry out any investigation and assist in diagnosing issues, calibrating, programming new modules, and recommending repairs using OEM Diagnostic tool laptop, working with remote asTech tech support service based in the North East and our out All in one tablet devices. Our mobile technicians can access OEM (original equipment manufacturer) workshop manuals, Will be provided with ADAS static calibration equipment for cameras and radars, TPMS tool, and hand tools. and handheld investigation equipment, test lights, voltage meters etc., to conduct repairs for customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of car dealership experience OR experience in an aftermarket repair facility as an Automotive Technician
  • OEM scan tool and/or aftermarket scan tool experience and knowledge
  • Proficient in identification of faults codes, error messages and modules
  • Strong automotive mechanical and electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience
  • Experience in working on ADAS systems mobile or in a workshop
  • Must have company designated certifications or obtain within 6 months: IMI AOM230 ADAS Calibration, IMI Level 2&3 in electric/hybrid vehicle maintenance.
  • Current clean driving licence.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office and web application software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • New car OEM dealership experience is considered a plus
  • Self-motivated, high energy and a customer-focused perspective
  • In depth understanding of automotive industry and various manufacturer acronyms and jargon
  • Proficient in customer service / reporting
  • Stong communicator
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload

A successful candidate will be working as an individual, visiting workshops building a relationship and trust with customers and will be supported by a team leader and mobile operations manager.

  • Training will be provided in using OEM equipment at our northeast training centre were you will gather experience in working longside remote techs in using all OEM dealer tools to gather knowledge for application in the field.
  • Serve as primary client contact as needed within the service process in your region.
  • Proficient in identification of faults, error messages, module corrections, etc. (DTCs)
  • Perform all necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Quickly learn how to evaluate information and data and provide comprehensive interpretation of technical information.
  • Perform customer service / reporting.
  • Coordinating your schedule and prioritising inboud requests based on location and criticality
  • Using ServiceM8 software to perform efficent reporting and certificates for client and work carried out.
  • Collaboration with team members to develop solutions.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Expertly explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to mechanical individuals which may include employees, clients as and when required
  • Continuous learning on new technical information and techniques in e-learning training sessions to stay well-informed with rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Be flexible around workload and daily job attendance
  • Flexible in travel distance for work taking thought on planning time to meet customers requirements
  • Communication with Mobile Operation Manager at all times, ensuring awareness of any issues or escalations.
  • Work as a efficent team member, and provide support when needed
  • Adhere to company policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
  • Work van and equipement will be provided. You will be responsible for upkeep of equipment, any further equipment needed will be approved by operations manager,
  • Weekly checks on company vehicle will be carried out by you to support maintaince a healthy working vehicle, tyres, brakes, oils and fluids, lights, wipers and to keep clean.
  • You may be required to stay out in a hotel over night due to volume of work and support needed, (this is in a rare situation) – expenses will be covered.
  • Vehicle needs to be kept in a safe location on a night when not occupied and will need some equipement may need to be kept in a safe place due to cost of tooling anf
  • You maybe required to work extra hours in this job role, and to be on site for 8am to start shift.
  • Planning schedule will be put in place to help support your daily routine.
  • Work mobile phone will be provided.
