VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: MOBILE CRANE MECHANIC Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly motivated and committed employees for the position of Mobile Crane Mechanic to join the versatile Maintenance Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by: Communicating Honestly, Transparently, and Acting with Integrity Exhibiting a Results-Driven approach Delivering solutions that are Fit for Purpose Dedicating themselves to Building a Sustainable Legacy Taking Responsibility and being Accountable Committing to Zero Harm Cultivating strong and meaningful Partnerships Reporting to the Cranes Supervisor, you will be responsible for diagnosing, performing repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring all cranes operate safely and efficiently in a demanding mining environment. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Perform faulty diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Mobile Cranes, Telehandlers, Elevated work platforms and Folk lifts (e.g., Grove, XCMG, Terex, Manitou telehandlers, Condra). Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, sensors, controllers, and charging systems. Conduct routine inspections and identify early signs of Mechanical failure or component degradation. Support breakdown response and provide rapid, effective repair solutions. Assist with the installation and maintenance of fleet monitoring, safety devices, and auxiliary systems. Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately in the CMMS. Ensure compliance with mine site safety standards, Mechanical regulations, and OEM requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Full Grade Twelve School Certificate Minimum Craft Certificate in Automotive/Heavy Equipment repairs or equivalent. Minimum 2 years’ experience working on Mobile Cranes, Telehandlers, Elevated work platforms and Folk lifts in mining, heavy industrial, or commercial fleet environments. Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ). Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for advanced electrical and electronic systems. Experience with CAN bus systems, sensors, ECUs, and digital diagnostic tools. Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and technical manuals. A Qualification in Auto - Electrical is an Advantage. Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP, Pronto, or similar) is an advantage.
