Role Profile: Mobile HGV Fitter
3 depots (Hemel Hempstead , Northampton , Birmingham) and roadside repairs
Purpose: To assist a busy workshop team in inspecting and repairing a large range of HGV’s such as Beavertails , Arctics , Trailers , Sweepers

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

· NVQ2 HGV Technician . IRTEC

Responsibilities

FOCUS AREAS OF THE ROLE:

The success of the role will be measured against the effective implementation of the following focus areas
· Diagnose and Repair HGV’s and equipment
· Carryout routine maintenance on HGV’s
· Identify faults, damage or wear & tear that could impact performance
· Report any defects to the maintenance team and ensure necessary repairs are completed before equipment deemed roadworthy
· Work closely with service team to ensure all HGV’s and trailers comply with the standards of road worthiness.
· Ensure all equipment meets health & safety regulations, such as LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations) and PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
· Service equipment in line with manufactures schedules
· Work as part of a team as well as an individual
· Working safely and respectfully in a busy environment

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills, behaviours, and ability.

  • Experience of HGV mechanics , trailer maintenance.
  • Have you got NVQ level 2 in HGV diagnostics and repairs , IRTEC qualification.
  • Must have tooling to carry out the role.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to grow within the business. Learn new skills and take on new challenges.
