ABOUT THE JOB:

The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to work in a camp-based environment rotating on a two week in/two week out shift rotation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Valid Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman’s Certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic;
  • Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience;
  • Experience in the repair of Electric Hydraulic Jumbos, Diesel Scoops and Trucks, and underground support equipment as well as surface equipment;
  • Knowledge of Ford, CAT and Sandvik equipment an asset;
  • Strong mechanical background;
  • Extensive underground and surface mining experience. Able to work effectively in field or in shop environment;
  • Familiar with the Health, Safety & Reclamation Code of British Columbia is an asset;
  • Physically fit to perform the duties of the position;
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to operate light vehicles and mining equipment;

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of Mobile Maintenance journeypersons and technicians;
  • Repair equipment as required, with a balanced approach of field work and office work;
  • Order parts and assist in inventory management;
  • Ensure all equipment is in compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure employees are trained and experienced for assigned tasks;
  • Ensure employees perform pre-operational checks, post maintenance checks, operate equipment, and perform all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures;
  • Monitor equipment and processes, conduct, and direct trouble-shooting activities when problems arise;
  • Ensure all reporting and work orders are accurately completed in a timely manner;
  • Promote continuous improvement in all aspects of Mobile Maintenance;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
