Position Summary MOBILE MATERNITY UNIT DRIVER Maternal Health Center 85 West Miller St. Orlando FL 32806 Full-Time - 40 Hours Per Week Position Summary This position will maintain and drive a Mobile Maternity Unit to community sites in Orange County as part of the hospital-based community outreach program, Orlando Health Women’s Institute Center for Maternal Health (CMH) Mobile Care. The driver ensures the safety of the vehicle and assists medical personnel during scheduled clinic sessions. Education/Training. • High School graduate or equivalent. Licensure/Certification • Valid Florida Driver’s license with no more than six (6) points; must be at least 21 years of age and insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards. • Florida Driver’s Class “E” regular license. Experience • Two (2) years driving experience with specialty vehicles. Previous experience with community mobile outreach program is a plus. Essential Functions • Provides daily transportation for MMU to and from destinations, to include community sites and special events. • Performs pre- and post-mobile unit inspection activities to ensure proper operating conditions, adherence to prescribed “Orlando Health Fleet” standards, and compliance with proper safety standards. Reports and addresses any maintenance problems or vehicle service needs to appropriate supervisor of fleet maintenance personnel in a timely manner. • Conducts re-fueling activities and follows all fuel expense policies and documentation. • Arranges for MMU security and adequate parking at each community site visit. • Provides for MMU set-up, breakdown, and storage, including set up of all medical and other equipment and supplies. • Performs routine cleaning and MMU maintenance activities; maintains neat and orderly appearance. • Greets patients entering the mobile unit and escorts them to the waiting area. • Assists with monitoring and maintaining inventory of supplies and other items as needed. • Coordinates services for the MMU with the department secretary and subcontracted vendors. • Establishes and maintains effective communications and working relationships with CMH Mobile Care staff. • Maintains mobile unit evacuation plan and coordinates mobile unit evacuation activities as appropriate. • Maintains all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements for Florida “Class E” regular license. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
