Mobile Outreach Worker Homelessness Outreach Program Regular Full-Time Posting Date: Location: Wage: Hours of Work: Closing Date: October 24, 2025 Surrey, BC $30.76 per hour (subject to funding model) 35 Hours per week November 24, 2025 Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community. POSITION OVERVIEW Are you passionate about making a real impact in your community? We’re seeking a compassionate and driven Mobile Outreach Worker to connect with individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. In this dynamic role, you will build trust, provide vital support, and work closely with community partners to help people access the services they need—right where they are. Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate will deliver frontline support to individuals in need, engaging clients in various settings, including encampments, and connecting them with essential services such as housing, income assistance, and life skills coaching. This role requires close collaboration with law enforcement, community agencies, and internal teams to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery. The Outreach Worker also promotes public awareness, builds and maintains strong community partnerships, and upholds professional, ethical, and culturally responsive practices. Key responsibilities include accurate documentation, safety reporting, vehicle coordination, and contributing to strategic planning and program development. QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate for this position will have post-secondary education in Social Services or a related field, along with experience supporting individuals with complex needs such as mental health challenges, substance use, and homelessness. They must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to engage marginalized populations effectively. Key qualifications include First Aid and Naloxone training, crisis response experience, knowledge of community resources, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle. The role requires flexibility, risk awareness, ethical practice, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Additional assets include Food Safe and Violence Prevention Training. This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
