PLANT FITTER OVERVIEW:

We are hiring a skilled Plant Fitter, Construction Plant Engineer or Heavy Plant Mechanic to join our mobile service team operating across the Caithness region. This is a field-based role carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of heavy construction and plant machinery.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• NVQ / SVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Plant, Agricultural, Vehicle or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with heavy plant, construction equipment or mobile machinery
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics and fault finding
• Strong work ethic and time management – able to work independently in the field
• Basic IT/computer skills for job reporting
• Full UK Driving Licence

• Service, inspect and repair plant and construction machinery at customer sites
• Fault-find and repair diesel, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
• Attend breakdowns on-site via shared on-call rota (standby and call-out pay included)
• Complete job sheets, timesheets, and digital records accurately
• Work independently while coordinating with the parts and service team
• Help train or support junior technicians when required
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with compliance standards
