You’ll lead a team dedicated to proactively identifying and mitigating cyber threats that may impact our mobile network, helping to safeguard Telstra’s digital assets and enhance our customer experience. The Opportunity: This role ensures that cybersecurity strategies align with mobile network business objectives, and that business activities align with cyber security requirements, enabling secure design, build, and operations while managing risk. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and execution of Telstra’s mobile network cyber security engineering program. Collaborate with internal mobile network engineering and cyber security teams, external industry partners, and global telecommunications partners to develop and implement cyber security capabilities. Build and maintain strong relationships with Telstra stakeholders, industry partners, and the broader cyber security community. Provide expert analysis and guidance on cyber security engineering solutions to protect against current and emerging cyber threats, including state-sponsored and criminal cyber operations. Contribute to our cyber ecosystem at organisational, national, and global levels. Deliver timely and effective security engineering outcomes to key stakeholders. Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Stay ahead of emerging mobile network and cyber security trends and technologies, mentoring team members and sharing knowledge. About you: Adept at understanding business focus and processes and ability to inject cybersecurity into the business through teamwork and influence. Demonstrable strong project management, multitasking and organisational skills. Proven experience in developing and executing cyber security engineering capabilities and outcomes. Deep understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities in securing current and emerging mobile network technologies and systems. Proven experience in managing and coordinating complex stakeholder relationships. Proven experience in building high performing security engineering capabilities and leading high performing teams. Demonstrated expertise in two or more of the following: Mobile network engineering. Cyber security threats and challenges. Technologies and systems to protect against cyber security threats. Emerging mobile network technologies. The application of artificial intelligence to protect against cyber threats.
