SUMMARY Maintain all company equipment in the field at Customer locations or breakdown locations for safe and efficient operation. DUTIES Perform preventative maintenance and inspection. Perform safety inspections in accordance with FMCSA 49 CFR 396. Diagnose and repair minor engine issues using specific manufacturer software systems. Repair or replace brakes, wheel seals, suspension parts and coupling devices. Diagnose and repair electrical and pneumatic issues. Repair or replace chassis, suspension and axle components including, but not limited to: air bags, shocks, brakes, ABS modules, air tanks and lines. Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors, door seals, wall and roof panels. Perform general repairs to company equipment. Maintain regular and reliable attendance Requirements OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE Partner with drivers, dispatchers, and leadership to perform necessary repairs, maintenance, or inspection or troubleshooting of various service issues: Intake of road service calls to help drivers during emergency breakdowns Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations. Additional duties as assigned by Leadership and Customer. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXERIENCE High school diploma or GED required 3–5 years of experience in fleet maintenance or vehicle repair PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Technical certification or associate degree preferred supervisory experience preferred REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.) Proficiency with maintenance management software (TMT) Strong understanding of DOT regulations Demonstrated personnel management and leadership skills Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities Initiative, assertiveness, and sound decision-making skills Effective verbal and written communication skills OTHER INFORMATION The essential job functions and major job functions are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the job functions that an individual will be required or expected to perform.
