We are currently expanding our team and are looking for a skilled Mobile Service Technician in Halifax to join us!
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· 2-3 years of experience in transport refrigeration or related mechanical fields.
· Knowledge of transport refrigeration, temperature control equipment, and maintenance best practices.
· Ozone Depletion Certificate (preferred).
· Health and safety experience and a solid understanding of industry standards.
· Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills with a strong focus on detail and quality.
· Proficient in MS Office and maintenance software.
· Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong customer service skills, with a professional and personable demeanor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· College diploma/certificate in a mechanical trade
· Previous experience in transport refrigeration or auto industry mechanics preferred.
· ODP License is a strong asset
· Previous experience in a mobile position.
· A high school diploma or equivalent.
· 1-2+ years of experience in the trucking or automotive industry.
· A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Service Department.
· A valid G License.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
· Mobile Service Calls: Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on refrigeration systems for transport trailers, containers, and mobile cooling units.
· Refrigeration System Repairs: Fix mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components, including testing systems for Freon leaks and replacing faulty parts.
· Preventative Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip inspections, general maintenance, and ensure units are operating within specifications to meet cargo temperature requirements.
· Customer Service: Provide excellent on-site customer support, maintaining clear and professional communication with clients.
· System Testing and Charging: Use refrigeration equipment to test and charge Freon systems.
· Service Records: Accurately document all repairs, service activities, and updates in maintenance software.
· Independent Work: Manage your workload with limited supervision, ensuring efficient service delivery and timely responses to urgent calls.
