A Mobile Truck Technician will perform repair of heavy-duty trucks off site with minimal supervision while working in field. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Work from mobile repair truck/van at customer's location or in the field Perform skilled mechanical repairs on trucks and equipment Assist in training new technicians into Mobile Technician role Perform initial inspection, and diagnose failure to determine if repair can be made in field or if unit needs to be transported to an MPG shop for repairs Use of OEM diagnostic and test equipment to perform trouble shooting and to verify repairs are completed Test drive of unit to be repaired prior to repair if appropriate to confirm failure, test drive unit after repairs to verify repair Perform routine inspections, safety inspections, and annual inspections on trucks or equipment in the field Maintain a neat, orderly and safe work area using required PPE Comply with all State and Local regulations including safe handling of fluids, oils, and chemicals Complete paper work as required in a neat and professional manner Tag, wash and retain warranty parts to be turned in to correct location upon returning to dealership Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and fluids on mobile truck Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED Diploma from a technical college or equivalent experience (minimum 2-years' experience in heavy-duty truck repair) required Intermediate to advanced computer skills with fundamental computer operations, spreadsheets, database, and e-mail
