Organizational Context and Scope Under the overall administrative supervision of the Chief of Mission, and in close coordination with all relevant stakeholders, the Senior Protection Coordinator (SPC) will lead the Protection Unit (PU), provide thematic guidance, develop and manage IOM Tunisia Country Office’s (CO) protection portfolio, and exercise technical, operational, financial and administrative management responsibility for projects and/or programmes in coordination with the relevant Programme Managers. The SPC will also develop and manage the implementation of the country protection strategy. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is committed to the principle that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society. IOM acts with its partners in the international community to assist in meeting the growing operational challenges of migration management; advance understanding of migration issues; encourage social and economic development through migration and uphold the human dignity and well-being of migrants. IOM Tunisia has consolidated its protection work into a thematic PU which will encompass and supervise all protection work including Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR), direct assistance, and counter-trafficking.
Responsibilities
The Senior Protection Coordinator will lead the Protection Unit and manage IOM Tunisia's protection portfolio. They will also develop and implement the country protection strategy.
