Description Description Now Hiring – Modality Workflow Specialist Location: 31 Sycamore Street- Glastonbury, CT Status: Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm OR 8:30am- 5:00pm Radiology Associates of Hartford is Central Connecticut’s premier radiology group. Job Summary: Under the clinical direction of a radiologist and general supervision of the modality supervisor and technical director, perform and assist with workflow and modality coordination not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Perform a variety of administrative tasks that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to maximize patient flow. Assume responsibility for assisting with patient care and patient safety. Perform other related duties within the job classification or organization, as necessary. • Work closely with modality supervisor to identify tasks to improve workflow and patient retention. • Review schedules to identify appropriate documentation of orders, CPT codes, authorization, prep, and prior imaging. • Explain proper preparation to patient prior to procedure and verify and/or obtain appropriate patient RX or verbal order (VO) pertinent to examinations ordered. • Manage work queue to identify patient safety, preparation for interventional procedures, premedication, and confirmation of exams. • Schedule/reschedule exams as needed to meet the needs of the practice or patient. • Operate and understand all computer systems, including PACS, RIS, MDM and SPARK (instant messaging). • Ensure patient modesty, confidentiality, and privacy. • Communicate effectively with referrals to ensure prompt and accurate ordering, completion of exam, and reporting via fax, written and verbal means. • Always maintain patient care standards to ensure reliable and accurate imaging and quality patient care via direct contact with staff. • Understand how to correctly navigate through the systems, accessing technical protocols, commonly used forms, required annual training, and radiologists’ schedules. • Contribute to and maintain good working rapport with all patients, personnel, physicians, and radiologists to ensure that the organization's objectives can effectively meet the needs of patients and physicians.
