JOB DESCRIPTION

Canada After School Group is a fast-growing year-round learning centre for kids in JK through to Grade 12. It offers a variety of subjects including English, Math, French, Art, etc.
Note: This is an onsite position and all teachers are required to teach in-person class on our campus. Teachers are welcome to teach on both of our campuses - North York campus and Markham campus.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in International Relations, Political Science, Law, or a related field).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching or coaching MUN (MUST).
  • Prior experience as an MUN delegate, chair, or organizer is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UN structure, committee procedures, and global geopolitics.
  • Excellent public speaking, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate students, build teamwork, and manage conference logistics.
  • Passion for mentoring young diplomats and fostering global citizenship.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Preference will be given to instructors who can work a minimum of 3 to 5 days per week during our after-school (Monday to Friday 4pm - 8pm) and weekend centre hours(Saturdays and Sundays 9am-8pm). Instructors must be available to teach in-person from our centre location.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Model United Nations (MUN) Teacher & Coach to lead our school’s MUN program and mentor students in diplomacy, international relations, and public speaking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MUN, debate, or related fields, with a proven ability to guide students to success in conferences and competitions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive MUN program that teaches students about global affairs, UN procedures, resolution writing, and diplomatic negotiation.
  • Conduct regular MUN training sessions, including mock conferences, research workshops, and public speaking drills.
  • Guide students in position paper writing, parliamentary procedure, and crisis committee strategies.
  • Organize and supervise participation in local, national, and international MUN conferences, handling logistics such as registration, travel, and delegation preparation.
  • Provide individualized coaching to help students improve their research, argumentation, and diplomatic communication skills.
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment that encourages critical thinking, leadership, and global awareness.
  • Stay updated on current global issues, UN policies, and MUN trends to ensure students are well-prepared for conferences.
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to promote the MUN program and its educational benefits.
