Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a modeling and simulation (M&S) analyst to help the Navy shape acquisitions requirements and tactical development. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to a team conducting analytical simulations of innovative technologies and prototype projects that will expand the capabilities of the submarine force and the Navy at large.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience conducting analysis tasks
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 2 years working with modeling and simulation tools
• U.S. Citizen, possessing an active Department of Defense SECRET security clearance*

STRONGLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated experience with tactics in any naval warfare area
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, operations research, or an applied science
• Experience conducting data analysis using Python
• Shore duty experience as staff for a tactical trainer
• Maintaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check. Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.

• Conduct operations analysis as a member of an M&S team
• Use M&S tools to program tactics, build scenarios, and execute analytical studies using a game-like interface
• Support SSN(X) technical and operational development
• Develop tactics, operating considerations, and processes for Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW)
• Work on interesting and challenging analysis, research, development, and acquisition projects such as:

• Advanced weapon systems that enhance submarine lethality

• Countermeasures that will enhance survivability
• Unmanned Undersea Vehicles working both with and independent of a submarine
• Unmanned Aerial Vehicles providing additional reach to the submarine force
• Support industry and/or government teams in the transition of concepts to prototypes to fleet release
• Leverage previous experience to support government engineering teams in the development of new technologies
