SAIC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Engineer to contribute to the success of the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS), specifically focusing on the renowned AEGIS Combat System and Enterprise Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS). This is an exciting opportunity to directly impact Navy mission readiness by ensuring high-fidelity modeling and simulation tools meet the performance expectations of Navy combat systems. This position is onsite in Dahlgren, VA and requires an active Secret clearance to begin work. What You’ll Do: Use advanced modeling techniques to support mission and operational requirements for Navy combat systems with particular focus on AEGIS Combat System and SSDS. Conduct operational and system effectiveness trade-off studies, test planning, and validation activities. Analyze test planning documents, focusing on establishing clear Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and supporting accurate operational requirements. Collaborate across teams and stakeholders, including the Operational Test & Evaluation Force (OTF/COTF), to certify simulation outcomes meet requirements and reflect Navy combat system live-fire performance data. Develop tailored TestBed solutions with a team of experienced engineers to address specific Navy needs. Why Join SAIC? Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of direct experience with Navy combat systems, including hands-on involvement with AEGIS Combat System, SSDS, or other Navy combat-related programs and solutions. Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance. Desired Qualifications: Experience working with the Operational Test & Evaluation Force (OTF or COTF). Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, Rhapsody, or similar modeling tools. Hands-on knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Integrated Evaluation Framework (IEF) techniques. Proficiency with Agile project management tools, such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Strong analytical abilities to identify and troubleshoot issues in simulation models effectively.
