Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Modern Matron 11 month fixed term contract to cover for maternity leave. The successful candidate would providing clinical leadership to an 18 bedded male acute ward and a 18 bedded female adult ward. The post holder will be accountable for standards of quality, patient experience, patient safety and clinical effectiveness with in the environment.
The successful candidate would be expected to have experience of working at a band 7 or above in an inpatient setting.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the clinical lead Consultant Psychiatrists, in ensuring that the wards are safe and a learning culture is fostered.
The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring optimum performance within the team, monitoring of service quality and developing services to meet national and local policies, targets and evidence-based practice.
Excellent communication and motivation skills are essential, as is the ability to promote strong leadership, demonstrating both our Trust values and our culture of compassionate care.

The Matron will manage nursing staff, clerical/administrative staff together with those who support care delivery. The Matron will ensure that national and service quality standards relating to the ward/unit environment and non-clinical support services are monitored and reported on. The Matron will be a visible, accessible and authoritative presence in clinical areas providing assistance, advice and support to staff, patients, relatives, carers and visitors
