Dermatology Histotechnologist We are seeking a Histotechnologist (Histotech) to support our growing pathology operations. As a Histotech at TDS, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality histologic slides for dermatopathological evaluation. The ideal candidate is meticulous, organized, and committed to delivering reliable diagnostic support in a fast-paced dermatology lab environment. Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized histology procedures: fixation, embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining. Prepare slides according to quality standards and turnaround time benchmarks. Maintain and operate laboratory instruments including tissue processors, embedding stations, and microtomes. Label, track, and document specimen workflow using LIS and lab logs. Assist with supply inventory and ensure lab cleanliness and compliance with safety protocols. Collaborate closely with dermatopathologists and lab staff to maintain efficient lab operations. Comply with CLIA, OSHA, and TDS lab policies and procedures Requirements Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma with an equivalent of histotechnical work experience and training required Strong organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot any histotechnical issues that might arise Extensive knowledge of advanced laboratory theory, technique, and testing related to Laboratory Histology practices Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and record-keeping procedures which constitute good laboratory practice and which comply with regulations mandated by NY Dept of Health (NYBOH) and the College of American Pathologist (CAP) Candidate must be able to learn how to operate the Laboratory Information Systems used in the Dermatopathology Laboratory Candidate must be well organized and be able to manage a demanding workload and moderately complex cases in an accurate and timely manner Candidate must be able to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment and be able to multitask as needed Working proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and program Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based upon experience Many Opportunities for career growth Excellent Benefits Package (medical, dental, vision) 401K Sick Pay Pay rate: $50 per hour
